Geophysical Interpretation and prospect generation for the Rocky Mountains as part of a multi-disciplinary team.  Supervision for acquisition and processing of new seismic data. Acquisition work and deal screening may be included depending on experience and abilities.

Working independently and in cooperation with a multi-disciplinary team, generate drilling projects as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team. 

Interpret and map 3-D and 2-D seismic data utilizing PC-based and UNIX workstations. 

Create fully integrated subsurface/seismic interpretations working closely with geologists. 

Manage the reprocessing of seismic data utilizing the most current technology.  Assist in program design and coordinate data acquisition. 

Provide technical leadership and innovative use of geophysical workflows and analysis. Utilize other geophysical tools and data - i.e. gravity and magnetics - as appropriate.

Mentor other geoscientists. 

Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Solid business and economic approach to technical and prospect decisions – awareness of budget and importance of profitability indicators.

Participate in team Risk analysis of prospects and potential investment opportunities.

Contribute to acquisition work and deal screening as needed.

  • Degree in Geophysics or advanced (MS or PhD) degree in Geology with industry geophysical training
  • 10+ years of recent industry experience as a seismic interpreter and prospect generator
  • Proven track record as a hydrocarbon finder
  • Proficient at 3-D workstation interpretation, Landmark experience preferred

-  Support large Tulsa based asset team in preparation of year end reserve estimates

-  Assist in preparation of annual plan including capital budget as well as forecasting of production volumes and expenses.

-  Provide monthly analysis of production volumes and lease operating expenses.

-  Assist in the evaluation of all potential acquisitions within asset team area of responsibility.

Qualifications 

This position requires a degree in engineering and a minimum of seven years of reservoir engineering, acquisition and development or planning and analysis experience.  The candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong PC skills: a working knowledge of OGRE or ARIES is a plus.
